Joined Stratasan as primary owner of all AWS infrastructure. Helped grow infrastructure and tooling as the team grew from a handful of people to supporting a diverse and remote team. Sunset old tech stacks in favor of simpler and more cloud native tools to better support dev teams owning more of their own infrastructure. Some of the work I have done while here follows.
Maintain and improve stability and security of our main Software-as-a-Service application.
Standardize, streamline and optimize all builds and deployments to Github Actions.
Optimize and repackage Docker builds.
Design and implement best practices across AWS accounts and VPCs.
Implement Pritunl VPN.
Maintain and upgrade Terraform to reflect best practices for both the IaC and AWS.
Maintain and or sunset all AWS based infrastructure. Including Hashicorp Vault, ELK stack, Redash, Jenkins and others.
Help instrument code to make best use of integrated services both inside AWS and with 3rd parties such as DataDog.
Migrate legacy applications from Elastic Beanstalk to full Fargate based ECS.
Help implement a shift towards obsurability over classical monitoring
Devops contractor for large client. Helping move legacy applications to Azure. Supporting migration to CI/CD.
Primary operations person for the only hosted application offered by Digital Reasoning across multiple AWS accounts. Automate all aspects of application lifetime while maintaining availability and capacity planning. Maintain multiple standalone AWS accounts while managing costs. Point of contact for engineers in the field needing either application or second level unix support. Utilizing several AWS services including, EC2, RDS, S3, SNS, SQS, IAM, Cognito, ElasticCache, Cloudwatch and others. Automate deployment of our application stack using Terraform and Salt.
Part of ICA’s client delivery team, focused on the technical implementation of new clients including design, deployment, documentation and coordination with a variety of teams and project managers. Testing, documenting and automating deployment of in house applications across both new and legacy systems.
Administer multiple HPUX servers in a heterogeneous 24/7, 99.4% availability data center.
Designed and executed a major platform change for our core finance systems from HPUX 11.11 to Oracle Solaris 11.
Administer Symantec NetBackup on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Responsible for enterprise-wide backup scheduling and implementation.

Work closely with Security team for government and private audits. Provide insight on audit findings and help develop corrective action plans. Monitor and help team react to security announcements. Script security changes for the enterprise to aid team in delivering consistent results by scripting.
Assist with improvement of new standard operating environments by acting as beta tester.
Assist with documentation as well as deploying capacity planning standard operating environment to new contracts.
